3. FAQ
3.1 FAQ
▪ Why are there no inventory types available in the dropdown?
Possible reasons:
- All inventory types have already been added
- No inventory types have been created in the system
If it's the latter, please go to "Inventory Types" to create inventory types first.
▪ What is "Ignore Sales Channel"?
When enabled, inventory in this type will not be restricted by merchant channel settings. It's disabled by default, meaning inventory will be allocated according to merchant channel settings.
▪ What's the difference between "By Ratio" and "By Days" expiration mechanisms?
- By Ratio: Suitable when product shelf lives vary greatly. For example, setting 70% means a product with 1-year shelf life needs at least 8.4 months remaining.
- By Days: Suitable for unified management. For example, setting 90 days means all products need at least 90 days remaining regardless of their total shelf life.
▪ Will deleting inventory type settings affect existing stock?
Deleting inventory type settings won't affect existing stock, but the merchant will no longer be able to use this inventory type for new inbound operations.
▪ When are expiration notifications sent?
Expiration notifications are sent when products reach the expiration threshold, based on your expiration mechanism settings and values.
▪ Can I set multiple inventory types for the same merchant?
Yes. A merchant can have multiple inventory types configured, each with different expiration management rules.
