New Inventory Hold

Table of Contents

1. Features

Create an inventory hold to lock specific stock so it is temporarily not allocated to new orders nor synced as sellable on your channels. One hold can lock multiple stock entries at once; on submit, the held quantity is deducted from available stock immediately, until you release it manually or it expires automatically.

2. FAQ

Quick links: FAQImportant Notes

2.1 FAQ

▪ Can one hold cover multiple different products?

Yes. In the "Hold Items" section, click "Add Item" to add multiple rows, each with its own stock and quantity, all built into one hold.

▪ Why can't I enter the quantity, or why does it say it exceeds available?

The hold quantity must be greater than 0 and not exceed the stock's current available quantity. Available quantity already excludes what's been allocated to other orders and what other holds have locked, so you can only hold what's left available.

▪ I can't find the stock I want to hold?

Confirm you picked the right product and its corresponding inventory type, batch, expiration date, and other attributes — the same product with a different batch is a different stock entry. If that stock's current available quantity is 0, it can't be held.

▪ Is the expiry date required?

No. Leave it blank and the hold stays in effect until you release it manually. Set it and the system releases the hold automatically on that day — ideal for campaign locks or short-term reservations.

▪ Can I change the quantity after creating it?

No. A hold can't be edited once created. To adjust the quantity, release the original hold and create a new one with the correct quantity.

2.2 Important Notes

⚠️ Important Reminders

  • The hold quantity can't exceed the stock's current available quantity
  • The expiry date can only be today or later; once set, the hold is released automatically on that day
  • A hold can't be edited once created; to change it, release and recreate

💡 Tip: Use "Save and Add Another" to create several holds in a row without re-entering this page each time.
