1.1 Overview

The Shipping Types feature allows you to manage available delivery methods for your warehouse. The system provides various preset carriers (such as home delivery services, convenience store pickup, etc.), which you can enable or disable based on business needs. Additionally, you can add custom shipping types for self-operated fleets or special delivery requirements.

Enabled shipping types appear in the shipping method options when creating orders.

Section 3: FAQ

Q1: What's the difference between system and custom shipping types?

TypeDescription
System ShippingPreset carriers with integrated label printing, tracking, etc.
Custom ShippingSelf-created shipping types for own fleet or special needs

Q2: How do I know if a shipping type supports auto waybill generation?

Shipping types supporting auto waybill generation require a "Shipping Account" to be configured. Check or configure this in the Shipping Accounts feature.

Q3: Will disabling a shipping type affect historical orders?

No. Disabling a shipping type only affects new order options. Historical order shipping information remains unchanged.

Q4: Why can't I disable a certain shipping type?

Possible reasons:

  • The shipping type is being used by an active e-commerce platform (EC Account)
  • First remove the shipping type association in e-commerce platform settings

Q5: Can custom shipping codes be customized?

You can enter a custom code, but the system automatically adds a custom_ prefix to avoid conflicts with system shipping codes.

Q6: How do I set COD amount limits for shipping types?

COD amount limits are typically defined by the carrier. The system automatically validates when creating orders. For special settings, contact your system administrator.

Q7: Can I modify system shipping type names?

System shipping type names cannot be modified to ensure consistency with carrier systems. For different display names, configure corresponding sales channel settings.

Q8: What's the relationship between shipping types and rate settings?

Shipping types define available delivery methods, while rates are set separately through "Shipping Rate Cards". They work together but are configured independently.

3.2 Notes

  1. Confirm shipping accounts before enabling: Set up corresponding shipping accounts before using system carriers
  2. Test environment first: Recommend testing with test orders before going live
  3. Check e-commerce platform associations: Before disabling, check if any e-commerce platforms are using the shipping type
  4. Custom shipping requires manual handling: Custom shipping types typically require manual label printing and tracking updates
