2.2 Channel Binding

  • At least one Applicable Channels must be selected when creating a template; the list shows the bound channels
  • Multiple channels can share one template
  • A channel applies only one template at a time; binding a channel to a new template removes it from the previous one
  • Channels without a template use the system's built-in default layout

Why it works this way: when printing, the system looks up the template by the order's channel. If a channel matched multiple templates, the system couldn't decide which layout to print, so channel-to-template application stays one-to-one.

▪ What layout do channels without a template use?

Channels without a dedicated template print orders with the system's built-in default layout.

▪ Can one template serve multiple channels?

Yes. When creating or editing a template you can select multiple sales channels.

▪ Does modifying a template affect already-printed documents?

No. Changes only affect documents printed afterwards; existing files don't change.

▪ How do I know which channel uses which template?

Check the "Applicable Channels" column, or use the "Merchant Channel" filter to find a channel's template.
