1. Use Cases

Quick Links: Adjusting the Quantity Threshold | Adjusting Coverage Days | Updating Expiry Settings

Scenario 1: Adjusting the Quantity Threshold

Situation: Sales increased and the original safety stock of 50 is no longer enough — it should be 100.

How to do it:

  1. Find the product's tracker in the "Trackers" list
  2. Click the edit icon in the actions column to open this page
  3. Change "Stock Quantity (Below)" from 50 to 100
  4. Click "Save"

Result: The alert standard updates to 100 and health is recalculated against the new threshold.

Scenario 2: Raising Coverage Days for Peak Season

Situation: Entering peak season, you want stock coverage raised from 7 to 14 days to ensure enough buffer.

How to do it:

  1. Find the product's tracker (mechanism "Turnover Days")
  2. Click the edit icon to open this page
  3. Change "Target coverage days (stock should last)" from 7 to 14
  4. Click "Save"

Result: The system calculates the new alert threshold based on 14 days of coverage.

Scenario 3: Updating Expiry Days

Situation: Expiry was set to 14 days, but some channels require at least 30 days of shelf life.

How to do it:

  1. Find the product's tracker
  2. Click the edit icon to open this page
  3. Change "Expiry Days (Above)" from 14 to 30
  4. Click "Save"

Result: Only stock with more than 30 days of shelf life is counted; near-expiry stock is excluded from health.

2. Feature Guide

When sales velocity changes, seasons switch, or your supervisor wants thresholds raised or lowered, edit the tracker here. No need to delete and recreate — just change the parameters, and the daily health judgment stays aligned with reality.

3. FAQ

Quick Links: FAQ | Important Notes

3.1 FAQ

▪ Can I change the product or inventory type while editing?

Yes. The edit page lets you re-select the product and inventory type. Note that "product + inventory type + mechanism" is the unique key — changing to a combination that already has a tracker updates that combination's settings.

▪ What happens to old parameters after switching mechanisms?

After switching, you must configure the new mechanism's parameters. For example:

  • Stock Quantity → Turnover Days: set lookback and coverage days
  • Turnover Days → Stalled Days: set lookback days and the shipment threshold

▪ Does health update immediately after editing?

Yes. After saving, the system recalculates health with the new parameters and the list shows the updated result.

▪ Can I edit multiple trackers at once?

Batch editing is not supported. Edit trackers one by one.

▪ Can I undo an edit?

The system does not keep the previous settings. To restore, manually change the parameters back.

3.2 Important Notes

⚠️ Important Reminders

  • Mechanism switch: after switching, double-check the new mechanism's parameters
  • Expiry setting: Expiry Days only takes effect when inventory has expiration dates
  • Review regularly: revisit tracker settings as sales change
